Drop-in Classes

Drop-in meditation classes are running at the moment, and the current course is Turning Inwards, Facing Outwards.

What is Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia?

temple-teachingKMC Australia is the mother centre of Kadampa Buddhism in Australia and hosts the Kadam Dharma Celebrations and Festivals in Australia.

The Centre offers a complete range of meditation courses and retreats, from drop-in weekly evening classes, day workshops and weekend retreats to week and month-long retreats and in-depth study programmes.

Having only opened in January 2005, the Centre has grown quickly and now is home to a community of lay and ordained practitioners. Many of these practitioners will become qualified teachers and meditators and travel throughout Australia and the world to help others meet and practice Buddha's teachings.

Perfect Retreat Environment

After its first few months in the city, KMCA is now based at Camp Waterman in the exquisite Dandenong ranges at the edge of Melbourne's urban sprawl. The Centre has maintained its many evening classes throughout Melbourne's suburbs but is now also able to offer residential courses in a perfect retreat environment.

KMC Australia is a charitable institution that is registered as a company in Australia. It is part of the New Kadampa Tradition, the International Union of Kadampa Buddhist Centres.

The Centre is staffed by volunteers who give their time to improve conditions for visitors and maintain the grounds, as well as publicising the many events at the Centre and its branches.

Over the coming years many aspects of the centre will be improved and upgraded to provide a more comfortable and relaxing stay for those who visit.
