How you can help KMCA
KMC Australia is a charitable institution that is run by volunteers and relies on donations to provide its services to the public.
The Centre owns and maintains Camp Waterman - an assortment of buildings set in 10 acres of formal gardens and pockets of rainforest that are open to the public all year round. KMCA runs many courses at the Centre and at locations throughout Melbourne.
There are many ways you can help.
Volunteer Your Time
There is always work to be done at the Centre and so if you would like to help you will always be welcome. Even if you have no skills there is plenty of cleaning and sweeping and other simple chores you can help with.
Volunteer Your Skills
If you have practical skills such as with carptentry, general building, plumbing, electrical work; or other useful skills such as graphic design, cooking, receptionist skills, web design skills etc, we would be delighted for you to put your skills at the service of the Centre.
Working Visits
The working visits programme offers free food, accommodation and meditation teachings, whilst living in the midst of our Buddhist community in exchange for 35 hours of work. For more details of the working visit programme please click here.
Make a Donation
KMCA has many running costs and all the improvements we hope to make will cost money. If you would like to help by donating money, whether as a single payment or an on-going donation please contact to our Administrative Director Kelsang Lhachog.
KMCA's school building fund is registered as a 'Deductible Gift Recipient' with the Australian Tax Office. The school building fund is used to build and maintain the main classroom buildings. Donations to this fund can be deducted from taxable income. Please specify if you would like to donate to this and we will provide you with a receipt to show to the ATO.
