Drop-in Meditation Classes in Melbourne

The drop-in meditation classes provide a basic introduction to Buddhist view, meditation, and practice. These classes give beginners a convenient local class where they can learn how meditate, and meet like-minded people.

Visit our drop-in meditation classes page for the times and locations of all our classes held throughout Melbourne.

What happens at a meditation class

An evening begins with a relaxing breathing meditation, then a talk on the subject of the evening, followed by a chance to meditate on that particular subject. Afterwards there is an opportunity to ask questions, and refreshments are provided.

Meditation classes are open to everyone - all you need is to want to learn how to meditate! There is also learn to meditate day courses, meditation weekend courses, and meditation retreats held at the centre in the beautiful Dandenong ranges, an hour outside Melbourne.

Meditation subjects covered in the classes include:

  • Who was Buddha?
  • Understanding the mind
  • Past and future lives
  • What is karma?
  • Our precious human life
  • What is meditation?
  • Death
  • The Buddhist way of life
